Merc showroom for €975,000
THE former Alo Kavanagh Mercedes Benz showrooms at Stillorgan Industrial Park in south Dublin has come on the market after the car dealership recently went into receivership. Estate agent HT Meagher O’Reilly is guiding €975,000 for the 410sq m (4,413sq ft) showrooms which stand on a site of 0.3 of an acre. Other ancillary facilities on site including a workshop, a valet centre, a parts sales office and first floor offices will be available to lease through agent and receiver Liam Dowdall of Smith Williamson Freaney. The showroom faces onto Blackthorn Drive, the main link road between Sandyford and Stillorgan industrial estates. James Meagher of the selling agents said the turnkey car showrooms was competitively priced to sell.
Google to buy its Dublin HQ
GOOGLE is in advanced negotiations to purchase its European headquarters in Dublin for a figure of around €100 million. The company pays a rent of around €8 million for two adjoining blocks on Barrow Street, Dublin 4, which are being sold by a receiver for Bank of Scotland (Ireland). They were developed by Liam Carroll, whose property business collapsed owing the banks €1.2 billion.
Harrington is on the move
MICHAEL Harrington of estate agent HWBC is to join CB Richard Ellis as executive director head of retail in Ireland. Acknowledged as one of the most astute retail agents in Dublin, he joined Jones Lang LaSalle in 1989 and later worked with NCB Property and Palmer McCormack before becoming one of the founding directors of HWBC. That agency has cornered a significant part of the retail market.
