Planning & Development:The two-storey Donnybrook Mall in Donnybrook, Dublin 4, is to be demolished to make way for a high quality mixed-use development.
Sean Dunne's Mountbrook Group is to spend around €20 million on demolishing the dated mall which he bought three years ago for €11 million and replacing it with a four-storey over basement scheme.
The permission granted by Dublin City Council will provide for 1,756sq m (almost 19,000sq ft) of retail space which will include a convenience store and 10 other units.
There will also be 1,216sq m (15,916sq ft) of office accommodation, a medical centre with 524sq m (5,640sq ft) and four penthouse apartments ranging in size from 95sq m (1,023sq ft) to 122sq m (1,313sq ft). There will also be 15 car-parking spaces at basement level.
The new scheme was designed by OMS Architects.
