SALES at Comet, the major British electrical retail chain, streaked ahead by 16.5 per cent in the three months to the beginning of November, fuelling 13 per cent sales growth at parent company Kingfisher, it emerged yesterday. Sales at the group, which also owns Superdrug, B&Q and Woolworths, were £1.35 billion for the 13 weeks to November 2nd, compared with £1.19 billion in the comparable period last year. On a like for like basis, the growth rate for group sales was 7.5 per cent.
