Norish has appointed Mr Paul Byrne as chief executive and co-opted him on to the board. An economics graduate and a fellow of the Institute of Logistics, Mr Byrne joins the cold storage company from Transport Development Group where he was managing director of the consumer division.

Norish yesterday announced the acquisition of a two-acre site adjoining its existing store at Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk for a cash payment of £725,000 sterling. The existing facility at Bury St Edmunds is currently operating to capacity, the company said.
