CHL Consulting Group, the Dublin-based management company which created a new image for Yemeni tourism, has won the first DHL Export Award of 1997 the multinational courier firm said last night. The prize, which includes £1,000 worth of shipment credits is one of five to be awarded throughout the year.
Announcing the award, Mr Steve Day, managing director of DHL in Ireland, said the company had been chosen because of its successes in projects in over 50 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and latin America. The firm specialises in international tourism and management consultancy services.
The company says its main focus is tourism marketing and development, with an emphasis on leisure and recreation projects as well as hotel planning and feasibility analysis. Its recent international assignments include a three-year tourism development plan for Zimbabwe and the creation of a brand new image for Yemen. CHL also devised a European marketing promotional plan for Aruba.
The firm is wholly owned by three partners; Mr Michael Counahan, Dr Philip Heneghan and Dr Cathal Lennon. It currently employs 30 people.
