Dozens of schoolchildren from Colaiste Bride in Clondalkin were on hand at European Union House in Dublin's Dawson Street yesterday to watch the Minister for Finance, Mr McCreevy open a euro information exhibition.
But the euro information campaign will not just be limited to the capital. A special euro roadshow, also unveiled yesterday, will visit every county in the State during the next six months to provide information to the general public on the changeover.
The Minister said the roadshow and exhibition were about giving people information about the euro on a face-to-face basis.
Mr Philip Hammell, chairman of the Euro Changeover Board of Ireland, said the roadshow and exhibition would complement the board's national information programme on the euro.
Events will include the Munster hurling final, the RDS horse show, the Rose of Tralee and the national ploughing championships in Laois.
