The 2000/2001 edition of Family Finance, an annual financial guide by Colm Rapple, is now available in shops. The guide is fully updated to include the new provisions in the December Budget. Changes to tax, PRSI and social welfare are examined along with the changing investment environment and the effect of low interest rates on borrowing and investment decisions.
Family Finance covers a range of personal-finance-related topics including borrowing, insurance, house purchasing and consumers' rights.
The guide is "specifically written to give practical advice aimed at either saving or making the reader some money", but it also provides detailed advice on individualisation of tax bands, the home-working spouse allowance, reducing the tax bill and savings strategies. It costs £5.99 (€7.61).
