Twenty eight Irish speciality food companies won 46 medals at the UK Great Taste Awards in London on Sunday.
The UK is Ireland's largest market for speciality foods with a number of Irish products well-established in delicatessens and fine food retailers. According to Bord Bia, exports of speciality foods, valued at £20 million, have doubled over the last few years.
Irish products won medals in a number of categories including coffee, chocolates, salad dressing, fruit cake, black pudding and fruity tomato chutney.
