The maker of the Kinsale fisherman's smock, Eurostyle Ltd, has been short-listed for the AIB Capital Markets/IEA Export after winning in the small and medium-sized enterprises category.
The 26-year-old Cork-based firm also produces women's golf-wear, under the `Green Lamb' label, sports shirts and night-shirts and has strong markets in Britain and Europe.
In 1996 Eurostyle signed an agreement with the world's number one lady golfer, Ms Laura Davies, to manufacture a range under her label.
"As a result of this success, staffing levels at Eurostyle have grown to 80 and projected sales to June, 1998, are £3.3 million," a spokesman said yesterday.
Eurostyle will compete with the winners of the Services and Food, Manufacturing, and Agribusiness categories for the title of `Exporter of the Year'.
