AVOCA Handweavers, the Bray, Co Wicklow based designer and manufacturer of tweeds and other clothing, has opened a new factory which has an initial employment of 11 people. This brings total employment to 260 people. The 3,500 sq ft factory is located in the Killarney Industrial Park, Bray. Avoca said its existing factory at Kilmacanogue, Bray, was unable to meet expanding demand from the home and overseas markets, so it had to locate further capacity elsewhere. Avoca generates an annual turnover of £10 million.
