A Country Antrim firm is investing £1.8 million to expand pigmeat processing and develop its export business in a project which is expected to create 30 new jobs over the next three years.

Stevenson and Company, which has operated from purpose-built premises in Culleybackey since 1982, currently employs 80 people in the production of fresh and cured pork. Its chairman Hugh Hamill said that the investment included the redesign and modernisation of the company's value-added operation to enable it to offer the capacity and products now being demanded, especially by the multiples.
