THE board of Andaman has requested the suspension of its 10p ordinary shares pending High Court approval to split the group into two separate companies.

In a statement yesterday its chairman, Mr Michael Halsey, said it would immediately seek the recommencement of dealings in its shares if its scheme of arrangement was sanctioned by the Northern Ireland High Court. Mr Halsey said he expected the court's decision within the next couple of weeks.

Andaman, the exploration company and manufacturer of road marking equipment, has proposed splitting the company into two groups, Transport Systems and Andaman Resources.
