The five Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) restaurants in Dublin, previously owned by Master Burger Investments, have been acquired by Gourmet Burger Kitchen Restaurants Ltd from the UK.
This deal is underpinned by a €3.5 million investment in a restaurant refurbishment programme across five sites in Dublin.
There are Gourmet Burger restaurants on South William street, South Anne street, Temple Bar, Liffey Valley and Swords.
The business will continue to be led by Ken Gilbride.
GBK Temple Bar is the first restaurant to undergo development, and is due to reopen at the end of August.
GBK chief operating officer Keith Bird said while they are investing in the five Dublin restaurants, they are looking to develop more restaurants in Dublin and the rest of the country.
“We are also actively looking for more sites in Dublin and further afield, with a view to growing by one or two restaurants a year over the next five years,” he said.
