A Century of Irish Ads by Declan Garvey is a new coffee table book featuring a selection of advertising campaigns from every decade of the last century.
In the detergent advertisement below from the 1960s a youthful Larry Gogan, Daz in hand, calls on housewives in the expanding Dublin suburbs to convince them of the whitening power of Daz.
The book is not a comprehensive overview of Irish advertising - Mr Garvey asked advertising creatives to pick their own personal favourites - but it is an interesting read.
The book costs £35 (€44.50) and is available direct from MO Publications.
