Northern textile company Adria Ltd has announced an expansion at its Co Fermanagh plant with the creation of 100 new jobs over the next year. Charnos Lingerie in Lisnaskea, a division of Adria, said a full order book for 1997/98 had created the need for 100 new machinists at the plant, where 40 people are already employed.
The factory produces an exclusive range of lingerie and supplies Marks & Spencer and other high street retailers.
Managing director, Mr Brian McMurray said the new jobs were created as a result of increased orders from existing customers and were a reflection of high standards achieved by staff. Charnos Lingerie is recognised as a training organisation by the Training and Employment Agency and offers staff national qualifications.
Adria Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Charnos plc which also has operations in England and Scotland.
The company has invested £50 million over the past five years, and 2,500 people are employed at six plants at Lisnaskea, Strabane, Co Tyrone, Newry, Co Down and Campsie, Co Derry.
