FAI Cup report: Two goals in the space of three minutes saw Waterford United rescue their FAI Cup aspirations at the Carlisle Ground last night just as Bray Wanderers looked set to upset the Premier Division outfit.

The first division side held the advantage thanks to a stunning Robbie McGuinness strike after 34 minutes, but Waterford turned the game on its head midway through the second half.

They levelled matters in the 66th minute, courtesy of a gift from Bray. Ciarán Ryan's attempt to back-pass was woefully short and Vinnie Sullivan kept a cool head to fire past Chris O'Connor.

Sullivan then turned provider for what turned out to be the winner three minutes later. His long, crossfield ball found Kevin O'Brien, who raced clear of the Bray defence before squeezing his effort past O'Connor.
