THE Jockey Club has announced that stewards are to Issue formal warnings to trainers whose horses appear to be inadequately schooled at the start.

It is part of the work being carried out to overcome problems at Flat starts and help improve race off times.

The new procedure has been discussed with representatives of the National Trainers' Federation and has their support. It will come into effect on August 19th.
