Colleges Munster SHC semi-finals: St Flannan's had a comfortable Dr Harty Cup win over Coláiste Iosaef of Kilmallock at Caherconlish yesterday. Aided by a strong breeze they had most of the work done in the opening half and led by 1-8 to no score at half-time.
Jack Neylon, Ger Arthurs and Brendan Gaffney had St Flannan's three points up before the latter claimed his side's goal. Arthurs, Colin Ryan and Colm Madden then fired St Flannan's further ahead.
Tim Byrnes finally got Coláiste Iosaef off the mark with a 33rd-minute goal and, when Gavin O'Mahony and Paudie O'Brien added points, they looked ready to put it up to their opponents.
St Flannan's, however, were galvanised at the back and, although they secured just a single second-half point, from Arthurs, they were never really in any danger of being overtaken.
