SOLWHIT WILL make it to Cheltenham after all and has been installed a 14-1 shot to upset Big Buck’s in the upcoming Ladbrokes World Hurdle, writes Brian O’Connor.
After a season largely spent chasing Hurricane Fly in two-mile events, trainer Charles Byrnes originally ruled his stable star out of Cheltenham but a change of heart means that Solwhit will now tackle three miles for the first time in his career.
“We gave him a break after his last run and he just started riding out again last week. I think he has freshened up well and the plan is to run in the World Hurdle,” Byrnes said yesterday.
“He’s obviously going into the unknown by running over three miles, but it seemed the best option.”
