LADBROKES have been awarded the franchise to operate the new betting shop at Galway racetrack. Located in a 40ft x 40ft marquee adjacent to the betting ring, the Ladbroke shop will provide a full betting service at the upcoming six day festival, which kicks off on Monday, July 29th, subject to the restrictions laid down by the Irish Horseracing Authority.
Ladbrokes, who are now 10 years in this country and have 73 shops nationwide, will also open the new shop during the September (9th-11th) and October (27th-28th) meetings.
"This is an exciting development for Ladbrokes and one that is consistent with our expansion plans in this country," said Mike O'Kane, operations director for Ladbrokes in Ireland, yesterday.
