REAL MADRID and Manchester United have finalised an agreement for the €94 million transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to the Spanish club.
United confirmed earlier this month they had accepted a world-record bid from the Primera Division side.
A statement on Madrid’s website, www.realmadrid.com, last night read: “Real Madrid and Manchester United have signed a final agreement for the transfer of the rights of Cristiano Ronaldo from July 1.
“The player will be tied to Real Madrid for the next six seasons and will be presented on July 6th at the Santiago Bernabeu.”
* BLACKBURN have completed the signing of on-loan Marseille defender Gael Givet for an undisclosed fee.
The 27-year-old Frenchman has agreed a four-year deal at Ewood Park after a number of impressive displays for the club in the second half of last season.
Givet was initially brought in by Sam Allardyce in January who said: “It is a critical signing. Gael made a massive impact last season while on loan here and I think he can get even better.”
* FORMER Liverpool and Sunderland striker Djibril Cisse has signed a four-year deal with Panathinaikos to complete his €8.3million move from Marseille.
Cisse (27) scored 11 goals in 38 appearances in a loan spell with Sunderland last season, but failed to clinch a permanent move to the Stadium of Light.
* MIDDLESBROUGH boss Gareth Southgate has made his first summer signing by sealing a move for Colchester winger Mark Yeates. The 24-year-old Irish player has signed a three-year deal. He scored 12 goals in 42 appearances for League One Colchester last season.
