Graham Gartland opened the scoring on 26 minutes - prodding the ball home from an Alan Kelly corner after goalkeeper Gary Rogers had parried Eric Lavine's header. Sean Francis added a second and an Lavine tap-in gave the visitors a commanding 3-0 lead at the break.
Drogheda's night of misery was confirmed when Andy Myler missed a penalty seven minutes into the second half and goals from Sean Purdy and Liam Kelly completed the rout.
