Bint Allayl WAS yesterday given the go-ahead to run in Thursday's Lowther Stakes at York.
After consultations between owner Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum, his racing manager Anthony Stroud and trainer Mick Channon, the Group Two race has been chosen for the filly instead of next Sunday's Prix Morny at Deauville.
It will be her first outing since an impressive victory in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot in June which saw her leap to prominence in betting on next year's 1000 Guineas.
But she will have a new jockey in the six-furlong event. Queen Mary rider Frankie Dettori partners Mythical Girl for David Loder on Thursday so Michael Kinane has been snapped up.
Channon is happy with the condition of his filly, saying: "I am very pleased with her and she is in great form."
Rainbow High looks set to become the latest leading fancy to be ruled out of the Ebor Handicap. Barry Hills yesterday declared the colt for today's Melrose Handicap on the same course, making it long odds against his tackling Europe's richest handicap the following day.
The trainer had warned that he was likely to bypass the big race, in which his charge appeared set either to be eliminated at the overnight stage or run from out of the handicap.
Yet Rainbow High, runner-up in last month's Tote Gold Trophy at Goodwood, was 7 to 1 second favourite for the Ebor with the sponsors yesterday morning.
At Windsor yesterday, King Darius landed the Quortina Challenge Cup Handicap under a shrewd Richard Hughes ride by one-and-a-quarter lengths.
Racing alongside the stands' rails, Hughes set his mount alight approaching the final furlong to register a success at 9 to 2 from Silvertown.
Tony McCoy has ruled out an appeal against his latest whip ban. The champion jump jockey's initial anger at receiving his second suspension in two days has receded and he is considering taking a holiday during his enforced absence from the saddle.
Stood down for two days for using his whip "with unreasonable frequency" on Ozzie Jones at Stratford on Saturday, he was handed an extra four days for using "excessive force" on Coy Debutante at Newton Abbot 24 hours later.
The two bans, which apply only on days with jump racing in Britain, together rule him out from August 26th to September 2nd.
"I will probably have a holiday and come back fit and raring to go," he said.
