PAT MCQUAID, who took over the organisation of the Credit Union-sponsored Junior Tour last year, revealed the route yesterday for the 19th promotion of the event from August 4th to 11th. It will start in Limerick and finish in Cork.
Stage one of 55 miles is from Limerick to Tralee followed on Monday, August 5th, with 60 miles to Killorglin through Camp and Anascaul.
The next morning there will be a six miles time trial from Killorglin to Killarney with 50 miles in the afternoon to Bantry. The Moll's Gap climb is not included, the riders will go out on the Cork road and then through Kilgarvan to Kenmare but they then take in the tunnel road to Glengarriff.
Stage four on Wednesday will be over 65 miles to Macroom, through Skibbereen and Clonakilty, with 50 miles to Kanturk the next day. Stage six is the longest - 73 miles to Dungarvan - with the climb over The Vee included.
Stage seven is over 47 miles to Cork and the race finishes with 50 miles on a circuit in the city.
