Group D leaders Juventus should notch a second win when they travel to Greece to play Olympiakos this evening after opening with a 2-1 victory over Galatasaray.

Juventus striker David Trezeguet should return after missing Saturday's 2-0 win at Reggina. The Frenchman will partner Marco Di Vaio in attack after the former Parma striker scored and impressed as he stood in for the injured Alessandro Del Piero on Saturday.

The Turin club's main opposition for top slot in the group, Real Sociedad, are away to Galatasaray.

Juve's Serie A rivals Inter Milan, whose 3-0 drubbing of Arsenal at Highbury was probably the most impressive result of the opening games, are at home to Dynamo Kiev in Group B.

Inter defender Marco Materazzi is out with a thigh strain and coach Hector Cuper is likely to ask Ivan Cordoba to partner Fabio Cannavaro in central defence. Striker Christian Vieri, who missed the trip to north London, remains doubtful.

Bayern Munich were awful in a laboured 2-1 Bundesliga win at Hansa Rostock at the weekend and need to improve dramatically if they are to trouble Anderlecht.

"We were really crap," executive manager Uli Hoeness said yesterday before the German champions boarded a plane to Brussels for the Group A match.

"Such a performance cannot be accepted," Hoeness said of Saturday's game in Rostock, which Bayern won courtesy of a late Roy Makaay goal.

Coach Ottmar Hitzfeld, whose men beat Celtic 2-1 in their Champions League opener thanks to two Makaay goals, agreed with Hoeness. "If Uli says we were crap, then he's right," Hitzfeld said. "We have to play better. If you want to reach the knock-out phase, you have to be able to win away games."

Monaco are expected to start Fernando Morientes against AEK Athens this evening. Morientes was rested for Saturday's game against Toulouse, which the league leaders won 3-0.

Midfielder Akis Zikos missed the game because of a knee injury, but is expected to play against AEK Athens, his former club. He will probably take the place of Edouard Cisse, who scored against Toulouse and in the opening Champions League win against PSV Eindhoven.

AEK need to improve on a 2-2 draw over the weekend against midtable Panionios after trailing 2-0.

Deportivo lost their 100 per cent record and the leadership of the Primera Liga after slumping to a surprise 3-2 defeat at Osasuna at the weekend, shipping three goals in a nightmare four-minute spell in the first half.

They will be anxious to make amends this evening with a first victory in this season's Champions League when they host PSV Eindhoven at the Riazor.

Coach Javier Irureta's main concern is over the left back slot after first choice defender Enrique Romero sustained a hand injury in a bizarre incident prior to the Osasuna match.

The Spanish international was bitten on the hand by a snake at Pamplona airport and had to spend a night in hospital under observation.
