Roscommon SF Final: Castlerea 0-11 St Brigid's 1-6 Castlerea captured their first Roscommon senior title since 1973 when beating pre-match favourites St Brigid's at Hyde Park yesterday.
An attendance of over 3,000 saw Castlerea trail 0-5 to 1-3 at half-time, Darragh Blaine scoring an opportunist goal for St Brigid's near the break.
But Ger Heneghan, scorer of 0-8 of Castlerea's total, levelled soon after the restart, and Castlerea, inspired by a fine display from centre back and captain Niall Finnegan, never looked back.
