Killarney's four-day July Festival gets under way with a tried and trusted star to liven up proceedings in the featured Muscrai Construction Ballyvourney Chase and Mosocw Express should live up to his billing.

Twice a course and distance winner, Moscow Flyer had his finest hour in an already distinguished career when giving the country's top-rated chaser, Florida Pearl, a six-length beating at Fairyhouse in April.

He was probably feeling the effects of that when third to Micko's Dream over two miles afterwards and although another try at the Galway Plate is probably a bigger summer target, the Frances Crowley-trained horse does have a lot in hand on the ratings.

Crowley could also be on the mark in the opener with Soviet Blues who brings an 83 Flat rating to the maiden hurdle while Willie Mullins can supply the bumper scorer in the Ballinrobe placed Jasmin D'Oudairies.

The bet of the day could be Arkaga now that the colt is upped to a mile in the juvenile maiden. Third to Monarchoftheglen over six furlongs at the Curragh and runner-up to Specious over seven last time, Arkaga won't be winning out of turn.
