UEFA Cup First Round/first leg: Graeme Souness says Blackburn have little to fear both on and off the field when they open their UEFA Cup campaign today.
Gordon Strachan will mastermind Southampton's return to Europe tonight after a 19-year exile using the same "wait and see" approach which earned his side a place in last season's FA Cup final and their ticket to the Continent.
He said: "I haven't got a plan for the UEFA Cup - but I didn't have a plan to get to the FA Cup final. We'll just play our game and see how we get on."
But, despite his six-game unbeaten opening to this term, Strachan is not getting carried away ahead of the showdown with Victor Piturca's team, who finished second in the Romanian championship last term and are top after their own half-a-dozen game unbeaten streak this season.
Strachan expects the 1986 European Cup champions to offer a similar approach to bread-and-butter Premiership football.
"There's not a great deal of difference in their football style from an English team, except they've got strange names."
Strachan has been boosted by the return from injury of Rory Delap (ankle), Neil McCann (calf) and Fitz Hall (toe).
