THE restructuring of Manchester City under manager Frank Clark continued yesterday when Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Tommy Wright agreed to make permanent his move to Maine Road. The Northern Ireland international had spent the past few weeks on loan at the struggling First Division club.
The clubs have agreed to delay formal ratification of the £450,000 deal until after Wright has returned to the City Ground to make one final appearance for Forest.
Danka, the American photocopying company, has announced it will not renew its sponsorship with Everton when its current agreement with the Premiership club expires in the summer.
Everton director Clifford Finch said: "It certainly has nothing to do with Andrei Kanchelskis going, as some people have tried to imply because the club knew of Danka's impending decision before he was sold.
"It may prove to be a blessing in disguise. We have already had half a dozen multinational companies showing interest in taking Danka's place," he said.
Liverpool are believed to be close to completing the signing of the young Crewe midfielder Danny Murphy, who is valued at around £1.5 million.
