A traumatic day off the pitch for Finn Harps ended in stalemate on it when they played out a scoreless draw with Celtic in Ballybofey last night.

The Harps faithfully kept the best reception of the night for Packie Bonner and he was called into action to save from Pierce Walsh and John Gerrard McGettigan in what was a dull opening hour.

The match livened up however in the last 20 minutes and Bonner's replacement Andy McCondichie saved well from Jonathan Speake in the 66th minute. At the other end Hay and Elliott both hit the Harps crossbar in the 74th and 75th minutes; but somehow the ball stayed out.

The match almost ended disappointingly for Harps when substitute keeper Darren Nash allowed a backpass to roll under his foot in the 87th minute. But he scrambled back to clear the ball off the line and earn the home selection the draw they deserved.
