Connacht Club SFC: Caltra 1-6 St Mary's 0-8 Fourteen-man Caltra withstood a fierce St Mary's rally at Cloone yesterday which reduced the Galway side's four-point lead to the minimum.

The turning point came 17 seconds after the restart when Micheál Meehan crashed the ball to the St Mary's net after the Leitrim side led 0-4 to 0-3 at the interval. Caltra's Enda Meehan was dismissed in the 42nd minute as John Galvin increased Caltra's lead to four points five minutes later.

In the opening 20 minutes Caltra's Mathew Killalea shot two points and Micheál Meehan one while Johnny Goldrick, Gene Bohan and Niall Commerton replied with points for St Mary's.
