Brian Dinan's Captain's Prize day at Woodstock Golf Club turned into a very special day for the Coote family recently. The family recorded a unique result in the competition with three brothers filling the top three places. Luke, who plays to a 12 handicap, recorded an excellent 62, given that he was cut two shots on the previous day. Paul, an eight handicapper, came second with a 65, just pipping Declan (13) who also had a 65 on the back nine. This was Luke's second successive win having won Liam McInerney's prize last year. The Coote family have been loyal members of the Woodstock Club since its foundation in 1993. The Coote's have also had a number of successes in the "Brothers" competitions in Waterford and Tralee while Luke's wife, Joan, is the Ladies Honorary Secretary. For the record Cathal O'Connor won the best gross with a 72 while Bobby Burke (13), and Shane Cosgrove (12) filled the remaining places with a nett 68 and 69 respectively.
