BLUESEA CRACKER will attempt to become a double-National heroine when she lines up in the Welsh Grand National at Chepstow in 12 days time. Last Easter’s Irish Grand National winner has emerged from a run at Cheltenham last week in good shape and will tackle the Chepstow marathon for her Co Cork trainer James Motherway.

She is currently as low as 10 to 1 second favourite for the three mile and five furlong event which saw a first Irish winner two years ago with Notre Pere. “We are happy for her to go and it looks an obvious race for her. She has come out of Cheltenham (behind Midnight Chase) well and we know she handles deep conditions well,” Motherway said yesterday.

Andrew McNamara guided the mare to success at Fairyhouse last Easter and the trainer is hopeful the jockey will be free to maintain the partnership at Chepstow.

“My biggest concern is that we stay on the right side of 11st in the weights,”Motherway said.
