This column looked forward to a return from Rodney Parade and the chance to watch a video of Ulster's great victory over Stade Francais in Ravenhill last Friday night. While it was great to enjoy the province's win, the same can not be said for the coverage on BBC Northern Ireland.

There were at least half a dozen off-the-ball incidents in the game yet to watch the television coverage it seemed that nothing untoward had taken place, save for the few brief asides from the commentary team of Jim Neilly and Maurice Field.

There were no replays of the incidents in question nor any reference to them and this is a match when Ulster full-back Bryn Cunningham received a serious leg injury that required surgery under a general anaesthetic. He received stud piercings to his leg that went down to the bone. It was particularly disappointing that no reference was made to the off-the-ball incidents at either half-time or full-time. Those who pay their television licence deserve better.
