Madam, - In response to Ryanair's letter of November 12th, let's be clear about the provision of wheelchair facilities at Aer Rianta's airports. With the sole exception of Ryanair, all airlines at our airports provide wheelchair facilities free to passengers with special needs. Ryanair is the only airline not to absorb the cost of assistance to passengers who do not have their own wheelchair.

Aer Rianta's responsibility as airport manager is to provide adequate airport facilities for passengers with disability or those who have reduced mobility. In purchasing an airline ticket the passenger enters into a contract with the airline. It is the airline, therefore, that has ultimate responsibility for the facilitation of passengers with special needs on board their aircraft. - Yours, etc.,

VINCENT WALL, Director of Communications, Aer Rianta, Dublin Airport.
