Madam, - Throughout the summer there have been numerous complaints by tourists of high prices and bad service.
I have just returned home having spent 12 days in Kilkenny city and county. I found food to be excellent and very moderate in price and staff in restaurants and tourist venues to be polite, courteous, knowledgeable and only too eager to help. I stayed initially in a B&B and subsequently in a self catering establishment. At both places my hosts were charming and their accommodation excellent.
I found being a tourist in my own country a refreshing and enjoyable experience. Credit where credit is due. - Yours, etc.,
