Madam, - When asked if the Government would press the British government to release all security records regarding the Dublin and Monaghan bombings, the Taoiseach, Mr Ahern, said in the Dáil that he believed the British authorities would not release any further records to the inquiry and that the Government had received the co-operation "we are going to get on this phase of the Barron Report and no issues remain".
Mr Ahern was hardly in a position to take the moral high ground as the Department of Justice files here in Dublin on the bombings are missing in their entirety. The stench of collusion is nauseating.
Having been ignored for almost 30 years, the victims and their families are now being treated in an odious manner by those whose duty it is to find the murderers not harbour them. - Yours etc.,
TOM COOPER, Delaford Lawn, Knocklyon, Dublin 16
