Madam, - Barrie Cooke's paintings are concerned with the natural world around us and the effects of man's activities, especially environmental pollution, on the natural world.
In the current climate of cuts in Arts Council funding, corporate sponsorship of the visual arts is much needed and appreciated. But is it not ironic that Cooke's retrospective exhibition at the RHA is being sponsored by the car manufacturer Nissan? - Yours, etc.,
