Madam, - I was very concerned at the extremely heavy schoolbags carried by my young nephews, as they returned to school last week. This made me all the more interested in a TV news item about a school-bag popular with Belgian children.
It is called a trolley-bag - a bag on wheels which the children pull along behind them using a telescopic handle which folds away neatly.It is a smaller version of the wheeled suitcase which people use to lug their baggage around airports.
If nothing can be done to reduce the weight of the school-bag, then the trolley-bag is preferable to overloading the young child. - Yours, etc.,
