A chara, With the dissolution of the last Dail we had an ending so might we perhaps have a beginning with the new one? I refer to the pronunciation of the Irish language by members of the Fourth Estate. Could our news readers current affairs reporters and eminent programme presenters please jettison such priceless gems as Teeshack, Taunishte and Dawill. Surely our illustrious presenters who are so comfortable with pronouncing the Netanyahus of our time, should make a special effort to dignify my mother tongue with the correct pronunciation of the foregoing.
Perhaps reference to their more linguistically skilled colleagues in Raidio na Gaeltachta and the much maligned fledgling Teilifis na Gaeilge would be in order. - Le meas,
