Sir, - The idea of Prize Bonds is in principle an excellent concept, but in practice it has become shrouded in mystery. Many people who have invested in, or been given gifts of, Prize Bonds in times past have despaired of seeing any return from them.
Why not have a monthly Prize Bond draw on TV, similar to the Lottery? This would make the Prize Bonds more open and transparent and appealing to the public, and we might at least hope to see our number appear among the winners. I imagine the cost of having the draw on TV would be far outweighed by the number of bonds sold by the publicity. - Yours, etc.,
