Madam, – I’m writing to congratulate Fiona McCann on her frank and uplifting account of her battle with, and recovery from, anorexia (Weekend Review, February 21st).
It was a salutary and vigorous exploration of a debilitating experience. Proust’s reflection that “griefs, at the moment when they change into ideas, lose some of their power to injure the heart” seems especially appropriate. – Yours, etc,
