Madam, - Seamus Dooley's sharp letter concerning Michael McDowell's efforts to curb media leaks (September 6th) calls on the Minister to "show us the evidence and name names".
Can we take it, then, that journalists will no longer base stories on anonymous sources whose credibility cannot be checked or challenged? Will they too substantiate their stories by naming names?
Come along, Mr. Dooley. If your members do not want to be considered hypocritical, maybe they should look at their own practices first.
