Madam, - In last Saturday's review of Leonard Piper's biography of Erskine Childers, Conor Brady states that he was shot in Portobello Barracks. I wonder if he could be mistaken. Robert Keyes in his History of Ireland, implies that it was at Kilmainham Jail. Jim Ring in his biography of Childers, suggests that it was at Beggar's Bush. My mother who remembered the incident well, always said that it was at Beggar's Bush. Sheehy-Skeffington was shot at Portobello Barracks. - Yours, etc.,
