Madam, - Eureka! An untold number of Irish citizens have, with very little effort, uncovered a deep flaw in the age-old law of "Conservation of Matter".

This tenet, as the average secondary school leaver knows, is a fundamental principle of classical physics, which ordains that matter cannot be created (or destroyed) in an isolated system.

Seemingly, however, our society has evolved to such an elevated degree of scientific sophistication that the average household, by turning one bag of groceries into two bags of garbage, adroitly demonstrates the reality of the creation of matter. - Yours, etc.,
