Madam, - I see the Rev Gordon Fyles (November 11th) consigns Solomon, David, the occasional Pope and bishop, Da Vinci, Tchaikovsky, Wilde and countless millions of lesser mortals, sinners all, to the eternal fires of hell; yet he is bound to preach that the Redeemer redeems the whole world, and that the Creator created his creation, in all its wondrous variety, and saw that it was good.
Perhaps simple doctrines are inadequate for this complex world where, as in medicine, for example, many experiments become in time common practice. Let us watch quietly from afar. - Yours, etc.,
HELEN SKRINE, Butlerstown, Tomhaggard, Co Wexford.
