Madam, - Cylinders of compressed carbon dioxide gas put the "head" on thousands of gallons of beer every day. Every bubble rising in every glass of beer contributes a little bit of CO2 to the atmosphere.
Considering the staggering amount of carbonated soft drinks and beer we consume, this must add up to a significant amount of CO2. Yet there has been no mention of a carbon tax on fizzy drinks. - Yours, etc.,
DEBRA E. JAMES, Cummerduff, Co Wexford.
