Madam, - I refer to the Irishman's Diary of August 9th, written by Kevin Myers.
The Diary of that day appears, in part, to be a political character assassination of my father, Capt James Kelly, thinly disguised as a poor academic "chewing of the historical cud", vis-à-vis Dreyfus.
Character assassination of a man not yet gone cold in his grave is almost akin to the coward's kiss. In this instance, the sentiments expressed by Kevin Myers are as unkind to the recently bereaved as they are to the salient facts. - Yours, etc.,
SUZANNE KELLY, Athlone, Co Westmeath.
