Madam, - I left Lansdowne Road last Wednesday with a heavy heart after witnessing a seven-year-old being encouraged to hiss at a football player by a father in a green-hooped jersey suitable for someone half his ample girth.
The moronic booing of the former Rangers player Tore Andre Flo by a section of the crowd surely requires the FAI to apologise and dissociate itself and the majority of Irish football fans from such poisonous behaviour - and to remind those in Celtic tops that their monies are going to a UK plc and would be better spent on an Irish jersey. - Yours, etc.,
GERRY GRIMES, Clonskeagh, Dublin 14.
