Several gardaí and firefighters were hurt when they came under attack in Cork city last night.
The firefighters had been called after two derelict flats beside a bonfire had been set ablaze at about 9 p.m. in the Glen area of the city. But they were pelted with missiles by youths while trying to put out the fire.
The gardaí arrived to assist and were also attacked with bottles, stones and other missiles. Six youths were arrested and taken to Mayfield Garda Station but were later released.
A number of Gardaí were slightly hurt in the incident.
